There are many difficulties in the way, but we keep on fighting polio, knowing that patience and perseverance will win in the end

I decided to work beyond the usual role of a Lady Health Visitor and chose to join the polio vaccination teams. It gives me more satisfaction as I believemy profession is public service.

During door-to-door campaigns we come across some people caught by misconceptions which lead to their refusal of the vaccine. I have been able to convince most of the people to accept vaccination by telling them why vaccinating each and every child under the age of five is so critical.

Now most of the families realize the importance of vaccination and their cooperation is heart-warming. That is all because of team work; the credit goes to all vaccinators and social mobilizers.

All efforts need to be driven in one direction. Unity and sense of responsibility are all that we need to help Pakistan get rid of polio. There are many difficulties in the way, but we keep on fighting polio, knowing that patience and perseverance will win in the end
