I want to live to see the end of polio, not only in Pakistan but across the world
I could have been satisfied with my farming business which is well rewarding, but I wanted to serve my nation – something beyond just making money. I chose to save the children of my country from polio a satisfying job that I have been doing for 21 years now.
My work on the polio campaign involves going door to door to vaccinate children. This also requires interaction with people of different faiths and backgrounds, especially those who have misconceptions about the vaccine.
I listen to people’s concerns, address their misconceptions and help them make informed decisions about their children’s health. In turn, they listen to me, act on my advice and spread the message.
We have at our disposal the support, knowledge and physical infrastructure that is required to do our duty as vaccinators. All we need is continued commitment and tireless dedication till the attainment of our combined objective of getting to zero polio case in Pakistan.
