- In the past week, the Regional Reference Laboratory for Polio Eradication at the National Institute of Health has confirmed the detection of wild poliovirus type 1 (WPV1) in environmental samples collected from 26 districts between January 6-15, 2025.
- As of January 31, 2025, sewage samples collected from Badin, Ghotki, Hyderabad, Jacobabad, Kambar, Karachi Central, Karachi East, Karachi Korangi, Karachi Malir, Karachi South, Karachi West, Karachi Keamari, Mirpurkhas, Sujawal, Sukkur, Abbotabad, Bajour, DI Khan, Lakki Marwat, Peshawar, Chaman, Loralai, Quetta, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi have tested positive for WPV1.
