“I am at the final stage of my MBA at Peshawar University. I contracted the polio virus when I was two years old. It is a terrible feeling that I would not want other child to go through. I was lucky that my father never gave up on me and took me to a number of doctors. I can now walk but only with the help of an artificial limb. Living with polio, my childhood has been tainted. I would love to play cricket but I cannot run because of my disability. I am only able to act as a wicket keeper, a role that does not require running. Similarly there is a list of things that I just can’t do. Therefore I pray that polio is driven out of Pakistan so that no child has to suffer the way I did and continue to do so.”
