A four-day capacity building workshop was held from June 9-12, 2015 to create awareness with radio jockeys, producers and community activists about child health issues in general and polio vaccination & routine immunization in particular. In this workshop, the technical capacity of radio jockeys and producers was developed further for effective programming on the subject of polio. Moreover, community activists were given education on thematic and effective message dissemination within their communities through community meetings, interactive theater and supporting the front line health workers during campaigns. On the last day of the workshop, a dialogue took place between community activists and radio professionals to develop collaborative projects between media and community.

The expected outcome of this activity was to creative more voices in favor of child health on media and within the community. The participants hailed from KPK and FATA from the High Risk Districts for polio and comprised of key civil society members including popular Radio Jockeys, Radio Producers, youth and CBO field staff.

The response of the participants during and after the workshop was commendable and reflected their willingness to contribute to the cause of polio eradication.
